Key Questions

Where is human memory?

Absence of specific, hard-to-explain, or fuzzy memories that usually accompany personal experience.

Neural network (Utilitarianism)

"In the new interface, the user's coordinates are displayed explicitly. This provides more accuracy for calculations."

Every line justifies the conclusion. Not a single random digression. Perfect, 100% relevance to the topic.
Human (Ontological noise)

"I was building a site for some small firm back then — selling doors, I think, or maybe windows..."

Two guys talking near a tavern: "look at that wheel! do you think that wheel would make it to Moscow, or wouldn't it?" (N. Gogol)

The words "I think, or maybe windows" do not prove the thesis of the article. The dialogue about the wheel doesn't move the plot. The detail just sticks out.

Expediency vs. Life

The algorithm is utilitarian. It removes everything unnecessary. Every detail in an AI text works to reveal the topic, to argue a point, or to make a neat conclusion. There is no trash in machine text.

A live author constantly inserts details "just because." Because that's how they remember it, because a thought got caught on a random image. The presence of a redundant, imperfect, and non-functional detail is an absolute guarantee of live text and human memory.
