Template metaphors
Using the most obvious and clichéd comparisons, based on the frequency statistical analysis of the vocabulary.
"After the refactoring, our uniqueness checking algorithm works like a Swiss watch, processing texts at the speed of light."
"The old interface was like an airplane cabin where half the buttons were stuck. The new version feels like a perfectly tailored suit — nothing pinches, everything is at hand."
Statistically probable imagery
A metaphor for an LLM is simply finding the most frequently occurring token next to the word "works" or "fast". Naturally, it will output "Swiss watch" and "speed of light".
A human invents imagery on the fly, relying on their visual and tactile experience. Comparing an interface to a custom-tailored suit resonates because it is fresh and accurately conveys the feeling of comfort. Such non-standard comparisons are a clear sign of authorial work.
